Who is attending?
For 2017, our destination weddings saw an average of 40 guests per event which a far cry from the larger, more elaborate weddings that take place close to home. This is a strong destination weddings selling point for those who want to limit their guest list for budgetary reasons or for those wedding couples who simply just want to be with their closest loved ones.
92% of our weddings have children attendance, which is up from 88% last year, giving parents the perfect excuse for a family vacation.
The latest destination wedding trends
Personalization is a major aspect of destination weddings. Wedding couples want their big day to look and feel like them. Cakes and desserts are becoming a favorite outlet for custom details.
In terms of bridal attire, we are seeing a lot of capped sleeve wedding dresses and sheer shoulders paired with statement headpieces (think flower crowns, headbands and hairpins) for an elegant style that will never go out of fashion.
